F and I filled up our tanks pre Melbourne Souq with a hearty breakfast at Wide Open Road. Suffice to say, by 2 pm we were pretty much famished. I had a lovely productive Saturday morning, squeezing in a run and whipping together a batch of homemade muesli bars (recipe here) before heading out. The day got even better from then on.

F and I shared the Portobello Mushrooms (Vegan) and Rhubarb, cardamon bread with coffee mascarpone. The portion size was perfect and our tummies were pretty contented after our meal. F had an apple & mint juice whilst I had a Soy Chai. F also ordered a Skinny Latte to go and loved it. There's a good variety of dishes to accommodate for vegetarians and vegans thus no need to fret if you're concerned about not having much to choose from- this isn't including the beautiful cakes and slices in the display case.  I purchased a vegan  slice of no longer known concoction to go for A (Confessions of a Shopaholic...) and I only heard praises about it.  Blame my feeble memory.  I've started drinking Vital Greens daily, lets see if this helps.

Highpoint on Point

Ma and I ventured over to Highpoint Mall last week and were incredibly overwhelmed at how huge it is now!  We probably didn't pick the best day having gone on a Friday night.  Frankly I  prefer walking from boutique to boutique with breaks of sky in between than be enclosed in a concrete jungle from end to end.  We enjoyed ourselves nonetheless and probably would have even more so if we went on a quieter day.

If you plan on exploring Highpoint, I suggest you wear comfy shoes!

I'm already planning another trip over with the Girls soon.

The guide to makeshift polka dot wrapping paper by a not so creative D.I.Y amateur

You’ll need:

A roll of plain brown paper.  Igot mine from the reject shop for about $2?.

Paint brush or old make up brush, basically something to put your paint on.  I just grabbed a folded up piece of scrap paper.  There really is no need to fuss and purchase paint palette plates.

Acrylic paint colour(s) of your choice.  I purchased mine from officeworks, kids arts & crafts section.

>  Dot around your paper as many large, small or varied shaped dots. They don’t have to be perfectly round and filled in. The messier the better I think. It looks more original and home made or perhaps this is just me making excuses for my lack of neatness.

>  Leave to dry for approximately half an hour? Just make sure it’s completely dry before you start wrapping!!!

Et Voila! Home made Polka dot wrapping paper.

Rad Radarte

Pictured are some of my recent acquisitions.  Both Rodarte jumper and Maisha hijab are lovely beyond words.  I'm yet to don the Rodarte tee and am thinking tomorrow may just be the day it makes an appearance.  Also, a ridiculously warm fluffy cream coat found it's way into my wardrobe last week (Zara) but i'll save that for another day.  Approaching winter I thought I had my jumpers and coats all sorted out but waking up to a 3 degrees Melbourne this morning is making me think otherwise.
